Baja Playa Estates is a beachfront community that is located approximately 600 miles south of San Diego on Highway 1 between the towns of Santa Rosalia (to the north) and Mulege (12 miles to the south) and is on the Shell Beach area of Punta Chivato on the pristine Sea of Cortez.

Basic Facts about Baja Playa Estates:

Developed in 1998 /Owned by Playa Estates S. A. de C.V., a Mexican corporation formed by Harvey Grime and Ron Sharp.

Lot sizes on Parcel 80 are approximately 70 feet wide and 100 feet deep and on Parcel 83 are closer to 70 feet wide and 150 feet deep.

Improvements include compact Dirt Roads with water lines extended to all lots. Water storage is in place and water is provided by P.C. Water Company.

This is a solar community and most homes have generator back-up (propane is available locally).

Approved Environmental Impact Study

A fulltime Caretaker lives onsite year-round in a home near the entrance to Parcel 80. This makes the homes in our community more secure and, as available, the caretaker can provide services for homeowners at a reasonable cost.

All of our homes are custom built by local contractors. We have local architects to design the home of your dreams and build it at a much lower cost than construction in the U.S. (or in higher cost areas such as Los Cabos). The homes are primarily constructed with concrete block with a stucco finish. There are skilled craftsmen available in the vicinity since there are 140 American homes in the Punta Chivato area.

This parcel has 36 lots platted and registered in five rows. There are 9 homes built. Unpaved roads and waterlines are in place to 27 lots. Plans are in place to cut in roads and add waterlines to rows 4 & 5 in October, 2015. Parcel 80 water is supplied from Punta Chivato Water Co. which is piped in to our main 10,000 gallon water storage tank. A rock seawall runs the entire length of the sandy beach. A caretaker house is built at the entry to the subdivision. Palms and cactus line the walkway to the beach. Our amenity area is located on the bluff behind row 4 and next to row 5.

Lots on rows 1 thru 3 are approximately 70 feet wide by 100 feet deep.
